Sand Size Card

Description

Our convenient sand sizes card shows the five primary sand particle sizes according to the USDA and the Canadian Soil Information System (CanSIS), Canadian System of Soil Classification (CSSC). This business-size card is made of durable, water proof plastic. The card comes in a clear plastic holder and is removable so the sand grains can be examined more closely or touched if desired. A break-away style lanyard is included for convenience and safety.

Very handy for site evaluation and classroom instruction to help feel the difference between different grades of sand, loamy sand and sandy loam. Helpful also when explaining to homeowners or septic installers about gradation requirements and quality control issues with septic sand fill.

Sizes are: Very fine (0.05 to 0.10 mm), Fine (0.10 to 0.25 mm), Medium (0.25 to 0.50 mm), Coarse (0.50 to 1.00 mm), Very coarse (1.00 to 2.00 mm)
